Movies Coming May-August 2013
Iron 3
Coming May 3, 2013
We don't remember much from Iron Man 2, that one wasn't all that great but the third one looks like it's going to be totally fabtastic! It looks haunting and dark and heart wrenching. It'll be nice to see a different side to Tony Stark's character than his usual playboy demeanor.
The Great Gastby
Coming May 10, 2013
We've never read the book despite that many people we know ended up reading it in school. The trailer looks pretty incredible. Apparently the story is centered around the Jazz age and about the American dream, how one man's obsession for money, ambition and one particular girl create a story echoing a Greek tragedy. Sounds like a really good dark drama.
Star Trek Into Darkness
Coming May 17, 2013
Chris Pine returns *swoon* We had hoped there would be a sequel to Star Trek and we're definitely glad it's finally coming! According to the mini-synopsis the movie is about Captain Kirk leading a manhunt to world in war to find some super powerful weapon. The graphics look beautiful and the film looks filled with action.
Fast and Furious Six
Coming May 24, 2013
The old crew returns! It's really rather ridiculous how many of these movies have been made. I mean how many more story lines can you come up with centered around cars and a band of law breaking cons. But Universal Pictures isn't giving up on the franchise and neither are we *hehe* Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are enough reasons to see this movie!
The Kings of Summer
Coming May 31, 2013
This was a movie that premiered at Sundance Film Festival and looks absolutely nerdtastic. It's a dark comedy about three friends who runaway to live in the woods because they get tired of their parents. This movie looks like it'll be ridiculously funny and heart warming and a great way to relive being a teenager. Plus the movie was filmed in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and since Bridget lives in Ohio, this seems like a good enough reason to go watch the movie by itself ;)
After Earth
Coming June 7, 2013
M. Night Shyamalan has returned with his new sci-fi epic staring Will Smith and his son Jaden, fighting to survive on an abandoned Earth that humans left 1000 years before. There are a lot of end of the world and alien type of movies coming out so it's hard not feel like everything's redundant but we are BIG fans of Mr. Shyamalan and are DEFINITELY excited to see a new movie by him! Plus, After Earth looks like it'll actually be good and we're fans of Will Smith.
Man of Steel
Coming June 14, 2013
Now when we first read about a new Superman movie being made it simply caused us to groan and roll our eyes. There have been a few Superman movies made and none of them were good. But after seeing the trailer and how dark and gritty the movie looks, our curiousity peeked, especially after seeing Henry Cavill (he played the son in the Count of Monte Cristo) is playing Clark Kent *swoon*
The Lone Ranger
Coming June 3, 2013
Johnny Depp! Need we say more *wink* Add in Helena Bonham Carter who is a BRILLIANT actress and Armie Hammer who is oh so pretty and adorbs, you've got reason enough to go see the movie. Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer is the Lone Ranger look like they'll be a great comedy team.
World War Z
Coming June 21, 2013
Not sure what the heck this movie is about but it looks epic and dramatic and terrifying which sounds right up our alley ;)
The Wolverine
Coming July 26, 2013
Hugh Jackman, rad fight scenes, cool Asian chick with red hair. Enough said. We're in! ;)
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters
Coming August 7, 2013
FINALLY THE SEQUEL HAS BEEN MADE!! As HUGE fans of the Percy Jackson Series, we were thirlled to hear there would finally be a part 2 coming. The first movie was okay. It wasn't amazing or anything but it was a cute and fun little movie. Hopefully, since Fox Pictures took their sweet time to make the darn movie, it'll be filled with epic awesomeness! So glad the original cast returned to reprise their roles, too =)
City of Bones
Coming August 23, 2013
We are fans of the first three books to the Mortal Instrument Series (the fourth book we refuse to acknowledge exists and haven't felt up to wanting to read the fifth one) and were really excited to hear the movie was being made . . . Then we saw the trailer. Now, don't get us wrong, we still plan to see it because we're true fans, BUT based on the trailer, the movie looks effy. At the best the action scenes will be the best part of the movie while the acting looks sub-par and underwhelming. We're hoping the movie surprises us and actually turns out to be good.
What do you think of the list?
What movies are you looking forward to seeing this Summer?
